Getting your body ready for surfing:
If you are wanting to maximize your time in the waves before you wear down to a puddle there are plenty of things you can do ahead of time. No matter what you will have fun but here are a few things that can keep you out in the water longer.
There is a post by one of our surf coaches demonstrating these 3 simple moves on our instagram page.
Hip mobility is a big factor
- For those of us over 35 or anyone that skis and bikes often- doing some mobility moves daily will help your pop up among other things.
- 90/90 are an easy but effective method
- Spiderman stretch as well will target not only hips but the thoracic region that can also be stiff.
- Y’s, W’s, T’s in prone cobra holding for 30 seconds
- Try incorporating these 3 moves everyday before you come to the surf camp. The instagram post demostrates the moves so click on the link to see the video demostration. Your surfing will improve even from just doing these.
